Woven Wood Shades

Woven wood shades add a warm, rich dimension to any room, whether they’re hanging flat in the fully lowered position or raised, creating even, overlapping folds. Constructed of Grass & Reeds these shades add interest and texture to a space in a very different way than traditional fabric shades.  Our favorite fabrics are finer textures with unique design details woven into them.

Multi-Function Shades

Multi-Function Shades

Today’s options offer many multifunction products that allow a wide degree of control of light, view and privacy. Some of our favorite options by Hunter Douglas are listed below.

Silhouette® Window Shadings

This unique product combines the function of a shutter/blind with its moveable louvers or slats for privacy, the benefits of a sheer for light diffusion and UV protection and the ability to raise it completely up out of the way for an unobstructed view. It’s perfect for golf course views and public areas of the home.

This is a unique window treatment solution you need to see in person to appreciate.

Pirouette® Window Shadings

The look of a roman shade, with the ability to partially open each fold to view through, and raise completely up for unrestricted view. This is a unique window treatment solution you need to see in person.

Vignette Duolite® Window Shadings

The softness of a sheer modern roman shade combined with a separate room darkening liner, all contained in a single headbox for a low profile look. This is one of our favorite treatments to layer with drapery in the bedroom.

Roller & Solar Shades

Roller Shades & Solar Shades

Roller shades have come a long, long way since the old days when you could only get them in stiff vinyl and plain colors. These days, roller shades come in every hue and many different types of materials, including plain, patterned and textured fabrics. There are a variety of privacy & light options, including room darkening. With so many ways to customize the look of this product, it’s easy to fit it into your design aesthetic and budget.

Solar shades are similar to roller shades except they are made out of sheer fabric that lets some light through but blocks out most of the damaging ultraviolet rays that could fade your furnishings and your interior décor. This product is great for light and sun control but is not a great choice for areas that require privacy as you can see into a space at night when the lights are on inside.

There are many options and suppliers to choose from in this category. We’ll make product and finish detail recommendations specific to your project’s needs.

Cellular Honeycomb

Cellular Honeycomb

This product has a broad range of fabrics and colors and is excellent at energy efficiency in both the warm and cold months. This innovative collection delivers the industry’s highest energy-efficiency rating. Available in vertical & horizontal pleats, today’s honeycomb cellular shades are rich in color, texture and energy savings. Lift Systems that eliminate or minimize cords are available for enhanced child safety.

3 things to know about honeycombs

  1. Not all honeycombs are created equal. There are varying qualities of fabrics, and varying levels of energy efficiency.
  2. If daytime privacy is important, consider a duolite shade, which combines both sheer and opaque fabrics or top-down feature.
  3. If you are looking for a product with minimal stack at the top, and want small light gaps on the side of the shade too, honeycombs may be the right product for you.

Shutters

Classic, timeless and a great investment for your home, plantation shutters are one of the products we know best! We will walk you through all the details of your custom shutter selections and educate you on the differences in the product from the variety of shutters available today.

3 Things to Know About Plantation Shutters

  1. It’s what’s inside that counts! You can source shutters from solid vinyl, hollow vinyl, mdf, finger joint and many manufacturers use a combination of those materials to make their shutter. While there is a time and place for them all, we highly recommend a wood shutters for inside your home for their timelessness and furniture like characteristics.
  2. Size DOES matter. Larger louvers provide a more unobstructed view when tilted open, but require more depth. Smaller louvers offer a more traditional look. Keep in mind the proportions of your home and your windows when you make this selection for the most balanced aesthetic.
  3. We recommend matching your shutter design to the design of your window. If you have three windows seamed together in an opening – the right choice for the best look is three panels in the opening.
